We needed North Cornwall and found Sphir. It was all last minute and Simone and team were incredibly helpful and within 12 hours we stepped into an unmitigated paradise. The views over Mawgan Porth beach and the headland could not have been bettered. The house is really well kitted out and has a very comforting family feel. We had to pay an equivalent deposit to the new company but they were people and service orientated and made our stay amazing. Needless to say we have placed our house with this better company and will never engage with Unique Homestays again. The fact that Saphir beach house existed was news to us. We had a week to either go home or find somewhere last minute. We had stayed several times with Unique home stays so logged onto their site.

The Unique Home Stays website is easy to navigate and held all the information we required regarding the property. Tangle Belle was a true delight, our first stay with Unique Home Stays, and we look forward to booking again with you very soon. There were so many little touches with excellent attention to detail - freshly baked cakes and scones, local produce, wine in the fridge. Each room had fresh flowers and the bedrooms were furnished to an extremely high standard. I booked Scarlet Hall for my daughter's 40th birthday. I had a lovely stay in Ballinderreen…

Great for guests who are looking for ways to unwind after a busy day out, this property boasts its own private heated pool with cozy seating amenities provided beside it. The kitchen is equipped with essential appliances to help guests prepare some delectable and healthy meals. The rental has a spacious rooftop patio, which is a great place to do yoga or simply meditate.

The team are quick to respond to questions and very helpful should you need them. I have booked a few holidays through Unique Homestays and will certainly continue to do so. We booked a beautiful property with this company to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We had paid in full but at the last minute were unable to go because of severe snowstorms. Advice from emergency services was not to travel and rightly so.

The quality of the finish and standard of the furnishings, kitchen equipment, bathrooms and general attention to detail was superb. Foodwise we were spoilt for choice in the local area. Gear Farm pasties are a must, bigger than your head and very tasty! Also some beautiful vegetables and meat available too.

I was overwhelmed with how luxurious the property was inside and out. Although it's a huge property, the moment you walk through the door you feel right at home. Excellent customer relations

Terrible experience - awful customer service to both owners and clients. We weren't too happy with our stay but the company reached an amicable setllement with us. They clearly have some great properties, we were unlucky I think to book the Hide on a hot day which made the inside rather uncomfortable. The swimming pool was the upsetting thorn in our side during our stay. I wouldn't go in it from day one as it was dirty, & was as the other recent reviewer also observed had masses of algae under the water & floating on top of the water.

Wonderfully remote beach stays

Just returned from our second break away with Unique Home Stays. The properties they offer are so stunning it’s difficult to chose which one to stay in. I think they are reasonably priced too and I like the fact they offer short breaks of 3-4 days too. Our 3 month old babies had to spend 4 nights sleeping on the wooden floor next to us in the small main bedroom, of which we were very unhappy about, we paid £387 per night for this privilege. This is our second stay with Unique Homestays and we have been delighted with the properties. They will be my first choice when booking again as I know the photos, description and properties certainly live up to expectations.

I recently booked a stay via unique homestays to celebrate an anniversary. The whole process from finding the property, booking the stay, and the holiday itself was faultless. The property was stunning, the customer service and communication provided by unique homestays was impeccable so our experience as a whole was perfect. I’ve booked many UK holidays with all the well known holiday cottage companies and can say that my experience with unique homestays has been the best of them all. I keenly booked a property for 3-4 months away and paid around £700 deposit, however 4 days later it materialised that one of our daughters could not make that date. I was happy for Unique Homestays to keep the deposit but called to ask if we could move the date.

Our guests will meet the people from the community they’re visiting and enjoy a genuinely local experience.

We are saddened that the accommodation did not reach your expectations, as we strive for the very best with each and every one of our properties. We chose this property as we felt it would fulfill our requirements, despite the fact that it cost nearly 4.5K for the week - so we of course expected everything to be perfect. We take all feedback we receive very seriously as it helps to work with our owners on making any changes and improvements necessary. Good customer service is also worth paying for.

The guest will always pay the host directly, either on arrival, or in advance (as agreed directly between the host & guest). Homestay.com does not transact the accommodation payment, therefore is unable to settle payment for a stay directly with a host, as we do not collect this money from the guest. Kudos to Homestay for quickly fixing the situation. I have researched airbnb complaints and there are just as many cancellations by hosts there.
